The U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) hosted an Orientation Visit (OV) to the United States for nine Vietnamese officials and one Commercial Specialist from the U.S. Foreign Commercial Service in Hanoi, Vietnam from January 20, 2005 to January 29, 2005. The purpose of the OV was to facilitate discussions between the Vietnamese delegates and U.S. companies, associations and government agencies regarding the development of environmental and project management standards for the Son La Hydropower Project in northwestern Vietnam.
Croatia Environmental Sector Orientation Visit
The U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) sponsored an Orientation Visit (OV) to the United States for delegates from the Environmental Sector in Croatia. The OV, which was sponsored by USTDA and conducted by Global Marketing and Communications (GMC), visited New Orleans, Louisiana and Boston, Massachusetts from October 2, 2004 – October 9, 2004. In this Orientation Visit, a group of selected officials from the Environmental Sector in Croatia were invited to examine the capabilities of U.S. firms and technology in the area of wastewater treatment.
Chinese Water Monitoring Information Technology Orientation Visit
The U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) sponsored an Orientation Visit (OV) to the U.S. for a delegation of government officials from the Chinese Ministry of Water Resources (MWR). The purpose of the OV was to showcase U.S. equipment and service providers in the water monitoring IT industry in an effort to familiarize the MWR delegates with advanced U.S. technology in this area and promote opportunities for U.S. companies to learn about upcoming procurements related to the implementation of the National Flood Control and Drought Relief Command System in China.
This Orientation Visit (OV) served as a follow-on activity to the previous USTDA Project. The OV provided value-added information for the MWR and offered U.S. companies the opportunity to learn about procurement plans linked to the full-scale implementation of the NFCDSS.
China Power Plant Emissions Monitoring and Control Technologies Orientation Visit
The U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) sponsored an Orientation Visit (OV) to the U.S. for a delegation of government officials from China’s Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP), Regional Environmental Monitoring Centers and the State Electricity Regulatory Commission (SERC). The purpose of the OV was to support China’s increased efforts to improve the environment by addressing the technological needs for China to improve its capacity to monitor and control effectively harmful emissions from coal-fired power plants. The OV promoted U.S. exports by showcasing U.S. technology and service providers in power sector emissions monitoring and control technologies and complementing additional anticipated activities to be supported by USTDA and other U.S. government agencies under the Administration’s Asia-Pacific Partnership for Clean Development and Climate (APPCDC) initiative.
Agency Brazil Pan American Orientation Visit
The OV, which was sponsored by USTDA and conducted by Global Marketing and Communications (GMC), visited San Diego and Los Angeles, CA, and New York, NY, from July 10, 2005 to July 19, 2005. The goal of the OV was to expose the Brazilian delegation to U.S. equipment, technology and services in support of the Pan America Games scheduled for 2007 in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. To that end, the delegates met with a wide range of US companies and visited U.S. sports facilities including the Staples Center, the Home Depot Center, Madison Square Garden and Yankee Stadium.
Mexico and Argentina Airport Security Orientation Visit
The U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) sponsored an Orientation Visit (OV) to the United States for delegates from the Airport Security sector in Argentina and Mexico. The Argentine and Mexican officials were invited to examine the capabilities of U.S. firms and technology in the area of Airport Security.
Brazil Business Registration Officials Orientation Visit
The delegates, representatives from Brazil’s National Business Registry Department (Departamento Nacional de Registro do Comercio, DNRC), an agency of the Brazil Ministry of Development, Industry and Commerce (Ministerio de Desenvolvimento, Industria e Comercio, MDIC), learned about U.S. best practices from officials at the U.S. Office of Management and Budget (OMB), the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), the National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS), the U.S.
